Wi-Fi Portable Computers

The laptop computers are bringing something new for more than 10 years now. They are portable computers and they let the user to access the Internet in a nice and easy way. If you have a laptop, you know what I mean. Just open the Wireless option and connect to the Internet.




When you use a desktop computer, first of all you have to connect to a local area network and only after that to the Internet. This situation can happen also with a laptop computer, as long as you use the Ethernet connector to access the Internet. A desktop can use the Wireless technology if the owner is not a fan of Ethernet connections. You must know if you want to follow this path too that a Wireless connection consumes more energy, thus more power from your outlet. If you use a laptop and you run it while it uses its batteries for producing power, then you will reduce considerably the computer runtime.



The good thing about laptop computers is that they are smaller and lightweight. It is difficult to transport a desktop computer, simply because it weighs more than a laptop, sometimes two times more. We find it difficult to carry a heavy notebook, so if we mention a desktop, the situation becomes more complicated. If you can use a hard case that encapsulates and at the same time protects the laptop from bumps and dents, you cannot use a case like this for your desktop. The other advantage of a case is that it let you transport the computer in a safe manner. When talking about a desktop, nothing is safe.

You might drop it if you are not strong enough and if you don’t use something to protect the computer, like a strong and resistant carrying case, that is suitable to be carried with your hands, not in your back. Probably there are in this world, but I haven’t seen them: backpacks for carrying desktops. A laptop can be easily transported in your back using a backpack. And there are a lot of manufacturers that produce this kind of products.

The computers available on market are either new or refurbished. This means that the computers have been used by somebody else before you, but they are retested and revalidated. Usually, the computers that have been used previously by other person or persons, come for a cheaper price.

This is the advantage of a refurbished computer. If you don’t like this idea, you can wait until your preferred manufacturer will offer a deal or a promotion and you could buy a new, but discounted, computer. don’t worry about the warranty period, because it is the same as the one offered for a new computer. Or at least, the manufacturers I know offer the same warranty for both new and used computers, if you buy the computers directly from them: Sony and Dell.
