The best HP laptop

Published by OnlyBestLaptops, on Jul 15 2010, in the categories: HP

There are many good producers of laptops out there, and some examples would be: HP, Dell, Asus, Lenovo, Acer, Apple, Sony, Toshiba, Fujitsu, MSI, Alienware, Gateway and others. And one of the bests of them is Hewlett Packard (or simply known as HP). It is an American multinational corporation which has the headquarters in California, United States of America. It is the largest information technology company in the world and it operates in almost every country of the world. It has around 310,000 employees and it is specialized in developing and producing computing, data storage, and networking hardware, designing software and delivering services.

Some examples of products offered by HP would be: Computer Monitors, Digital Cameras, Enterprise Software, Indigo Digital Press, Mobile Phones, Networking, Personal Computers and Laptops, Personal Digital Assistants, Printers, Scanners, Servers, Storage, Televisions, Telecommunications hardware and software. If you are wondering where the name comes from the answer is simple – from the names of the founders of the company – Bill Hewlett and David Packard. In time, HP also bought other companies which are now its subsidiaries, and among them you can find: Compaq, Snapfish, HP Labs, ProCurve, HP Enterprise Services, VoodooPC, Palm, Inc. and others.

And of course HP is also among the best producers of laptops in the world, and for today we’ll discuss more about one of the best HP laptops, the HP – ENVY Laptop with Intel ® Core ™ i7 Processor – Brushed Aluminum, Model: ENVY 15 – 1050 NR | SKU: 9556394. This is a powerful laptop with premium features, and also a really expensive one. Its original price is 2,000 dollars, but Best Buy is offering you a really big discount of 300 dollars, so the price is now 1,700 dollars. One of the most important features of any laptop or computer is the processor, and this model has the best processor for laptops on the market right now, the Intel ® Core ™ i7 – 720 QM processor, which features a 1333 MHz frontside bus, 6 MB L 2 cache and 1.6 GHz processor speed. Its RAM memory is also a very powerful one, and it has 6 GB of DDR 3 memory for multitasking power. And the great thing is that this can be expanded up to 16 GB, so it won’t be necessary to replace the laptop after just 2-3 years…you can simply upgrade the RAM memory. It also comes with an external drop in multiformat DVD ± RW / CD-RW drive with double layer support and its display screen is a 15.6 ” LED high definition widescreen display , with Ultra Brightview technology and a 1920 x 1080 resolution. It comes with a spacious hard drive, which will allow you to store all sorts of files – movies, music, pictures, video games etc. it is a 500 GB Serial ATA hard drive (with a speed of 7200 rpm).

We don’t understand why for this high price this model doesn’t come with a graphics engine with dedicated memory, and it has just a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4830 graphics

with up to 3835 MB total graphics memory (shared). It also has built in webcam and a microphone for video chatting on the internet, but the media card reader is really bad for this price. It is just a 2 in 1 media reader (Supports Secure Digital and MultiMediaCard formats) and you can find 5 in 1 or even 7 in 1 media card readers on much cheaper laptops. The USB ports are quite week too, and there are just 2 of them (unlike other laptops that have a display screen of 15.6 inch and which have 3 or even 4 USB ports). It has both wireless (Intel ® WiFi Link 5100 AGN 802.11 a/ b/ g/ n) and Ethernet connectivity (Built in 10/ 100/ 1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN with RJ 45 connector) for easy access to the internet. But at least it has a really good feature, and this is the battery life of 7 hours and 15 minutes. And this is because it has 2 batteries – one 6 cell lithium ion polymer and one 9 cell lithium ion polymer battery.

Its dimensions are:
Product Height 1 ”
Product Width 15 ”
Product Weight 5.2 lbs.
Product Depth 9.6 ”

It also comes with an installed version of the Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64 bit operating system. And a software package that includes: Adobe Reader, Microsoft Silverlight, Sun Java and a 60 day trial version of Microsoft Office. And finally this HP – Envy laptop is also Energy Star Qualified so it uses less energy and meets strict energy efficiency guidelines.

So this was a short review of one of the bests HP laptops, and also one of the most expensive ones made by this company. If you had the chance to use it so far, we invite you to make a short review about it, and tell us if you liked it or not.
