Published by OnlyBestLaptops, on Oct 31 2010, in the categories: Accessories

The notebooks are getting more and more popular these days and more and more people prefer to spend some extra money and to benefit from the many advantages offered by a notebook. There are many of them and the biggest one is the portability. The fact that a laptop is so small, thin and lightweight makes it really portable. So this way you can take it with you anywhere you are going and use it anytime you need to.

For example if you are a business man you can take your laptop while being on a business trip and use it on the way there (in the train or plane) and also use it while you are in the hotel room. Or if you are a student you can take the notebook with you when you are going to the town where you are studying, and use it in your dorm room, and also take it with you when you are traveling back to your town. And the examples can continue, and you can use a notebook no matter what your profession is and no matter where you are going.

A laptop can work just like a desktop computer, with a wire connected to an AC adapter, but the best part is that it can also work without any power source. While you are at home and you are keeping it connected into the AC adapter, it will automatically charge its included battery. There are many kinds of batteries and each one has a different life…some batteries last for just 4-5 hours, while others last for double this time or even more.

There are many companies that are producing good notebooks and Toshiba is one of them. Today we won’t discuss about a model of notebook like usually, but we’ll discuss about some Toshiba laptop chargers. A laptop charger is actually an AC adapter.

The adapter from the image is the Toshiba 65 watt global AC Adapter that has a price of 69 dollars. You can choose to buy a new AC adapter if the one you have has broken, or in case you want to have two of them. You can use one just for home, and always leave it under your desk, and use the other one only when you are traveling and keep it in your luggage. This model has a universal 100 / 240 V power input so it means you can use it anywhere around the world, in any country you are traveling. And here are the technical details for this specific AC adapter:

The adapter above was a 65 watts one, and now we’ll discuss about a 120 watt adapter, and we’ll take the Toshiba 120 Watt Global AC Adapter that has a price of 99 dollars. You will have to connect one if its ends to your notebook, and the other into a socket. So this device looks just like this:

And here are the characteristics for this one:
- Power: 100-240 V/ 50-60 Hz Frequency (Universal) input voltage; 19 V x 6.3 A output

How To Compare Two Toshiba Laptops

Published by OnlyBestLaptops, on Oct 31 2010, in the categories: Toshiba

At the beginning people thought that laptops won’t be appreciated by home users, but today things had changed a lot and the notebooks are becoming really popular. Not just business men buy them to use them in their business trips, but also many other kinds of people with all ages and professions. And if more and more people prefer to buy a laptop instead of a PC, and if the technology continues to develop in a few years there will probably be more laptops than desktop computers.

A notebook computer has many advantages and the greatest one is of course its portability. It is small, light so it can be carried around, and it also has an included battery that can work for a few hours so this way you can use it anytime you need and take care of all your problems. There are many producers of notebooks, and also many available models so you will have where to choose from. Some examples of companies that are producing good notebooks are: Hewlett Packard, Acer, Asus, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, Fujitsu, MSI and Apple.

Today we are going to discuss just about one of these companies and we’ll choose Toshiba. It is the fifth largest producer of personal computers in the world, but beside this it also produces many other types of electronic devices. It has the headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, but since it is a multinational corporation of course it has many other subsidiaries all over the world.

So today we are going to compare 2 Toshiba laptops, and the best way to do this is take two models, discuss all about them and see which is the best. Toshiba offers five families of notebooks (Satellite, Satellite Pro, Qosmio, Tecra and Portgete) each one with its own series and each series with 2 or 3 models. Today we’ll compare a model from the Tecra family and one from Satellite. From Tecra we’ll choose the M 10 series.

The notebooks from this series are quite small (so they are highly portable) and they also offer good features and technologies so that you can take care of the day to day activities, and even more. Some models even have a 12 cell Lithium Ion battery so that you can handle your activities for a longer time, without needing to recharge your laptop. They have a 14.1 inch display screen, that is not that large, but is not very small either, so it’s just great for the day to day activities.

The notebooks from this series even come with a Toshiba carrying case that is perfect to carry and protect your laptop. They have a simple and elegant design and they also come with a built in webcam and microphone and many other features and ports. There are three models in the M 10 series and they are: the M 10 S 3454 (that has a price of 999 dollars), the M 10 – S 3451 (that also costs 999 dollars) and the M 10 – S 3452 (that costs 1.249 dollars).

So now let’s present the technical details for the firs model: -  Processor – Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor P8700; – operating system – Genuine Windows® XP Professional (32-bit, SP3) with Recovery Media for Genuine Windows® 7 Professional (this may depend on the store where you buy the laptop from); – memory – 2 GB PC2-6400 DDR 2 800 MHz SDRAM; -  Graphics engine – Mobile Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500 MHD; -  Hard drive – 160 GB HDD ( 5400 rpm) ; – Optical drive – DVD-SuperMulti drive (+/-R double layer); -  Other features –  Active management technology, Bluetooth, USB sleep and charge, eSATA USB Combo port, fingerprint reader.

To make the comparison a correct one, we’ll choose a model from the Satellite family that also has a 14 inch display screen. And we’ll take the M 500 series. In this series you will find laptops with generous features, solid performance and a great portability too. The models from the M 500 series are available in 3 different colors- red, white or black,  depending on your personal tastes. Its widescreen display has an aspect ratio of 16:9, which is ideal for watching today’s widescreen movies. And beside good video quality you will also need a good sound, so that’s why these laptops come with internal speakers with Dolby Sound Room, and they are produced by a large audio company – Harman Kardon.

They have all the ports you can need, and here they are: on the front side you can find the bridge media adapter slot, the wireless antenna on and off switch and also the indicator lights for the system and for the wireless connection. On the right side there are 2 USB ports, a network port, a modem port, the optical drive and the AC adapter jack.

There is nothing on the rear side and on the left side of the notebook there is the RGB monitor port, the cooling vent, the HDMI port, another USB port, the headphones jack, the microphone jack and the eSATA / USB combo port. So you can find all the ports you can possibly need. There are also three models in the M 500 series, and they are the: M 505 D – S 4000 WH (for a price of 699 dollars), the M 505 D – S 4000 (with the same price) and the M 500 – ST 5408 (that costs 799 dollars).

Since the model we presented before had a price of 999 dollars, we’ll present the technical details for the most expensive model here, the M 500 – ST 5408. So here they are: -Processor – Intel® Core™ i3-330M Processor; – operating system – Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) (this may depend on the store where you buy the laptop from); – memory – 4 GB DDR 3 800 MHz; – Graphics engine – Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator HD; – Hard drive – 320 GB HDD ( 5400 rpm); – Optical drive – DVD-SuperMulti drive (+/-R double layer); – Other features –  LED backlit display, S/P DIF Digital Audio port, Eco utility, HDMI port, Harman Kardon speakers. As you can notice the technical details are much better for the Satellite M 500 model, and this one is also cheaper.

All of the components of a PC (monitor, keyboard, mouse, central unit, speakers) are external but in the case of a laptop all of these components are integrated into one single unit. And some of the most popular in the world are: Hewlett Packard, Acer, Asus, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, Fujitsu, MSI and Apple. Today we are going to discuss about one of them, and we’ll choose Toshiba. Toshiba vs Dell Notebook Computers

Published by OnlyBestLaptops, on Oct 30 2010, in the categories: Dell, Toshiba

The notebooks are getting more and more popular these days and this is because they are offering many advantages. And the best of them is of course the portability. Being so small you can take a laptop with you when you are traveling, and use it to take care of all your problems, no matter if they are for work of for personal stuff. Even though a laptop is more expensive than a desktop computer with the same characteristics, it will worth to spend the extra amount of money.

There are many producers of notebooks, and here are the best companies in the world: Hewlett Packard, Acer, Asus, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, Fujitsu, MSI and Apple. Today we are going to focus on just 2 of them, Dell and Toshiba. Dell is the third largest producer of computers in the world, and Toshiba is the fifth one meaning that both of the companies are in the top 5 of the world. Each of the companies is offering many families of notebooks, each one with its own models, and each model with its own characteristics and features.

Today we are going to make a comparison between two models from Dell and Toshiba and we’ll choose 2 that both have a 15.6 inch display screen and a price of around 900 dollars. So we’ll compare the two models and see which company offers the best features for this price. From Dell we’ll choose the Inspiron 15 model. This is quite a good model that is also looking nice. It is available in three different colors: black, blue or pink.

It offers good features, not just for the day to day simple activities (such as writing documents, e-mails and browsing the internet) but also for more complex ones such as playing an advanced video game or watching a movie in High Definition. As we said the display screen has 15.6 inch diagonal and you can optionally choose 9 cell battery that offers a great life of 7 hours and 15 minutes. It also has a full size keyboard with built in 10 key number and pretty good SRS Premium Sound speakers.

The model that we choose for today (the Inspiron 1564) has a price of 939 dollars and has these technical details: -  Processor – Intel®Core™ i5 – 520 M; -  operating system – Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) (this may depend on the store where you buy the laptop from); -  memory – 4 GB Shared Dual Channel DDR3 at 1066 MHz; -  Graphics engine – 512 MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330; – Hard drive – 320 GB, 5400 RPM; -  Optical drive – 8 X CD / DVD Burner (Dual Layer DVD +/-R Drive); -  Other features –  15.6 ” HD WLED, high definition audio 2.0, Dell Wireless 1397,  Lithium Ion battery 6 cell, integrated 1.3 M pixel webcam.

And now let’s discuss about a model from Toshiba with the same display screen size and about the same price. We’ll choose the A 11 – S 3520 model from the Tecra A 11 family of notebooks. The laptops from this family also come with a 15.6 widescreen display and with good technical details to allow you to take care of your business and personal issues fast and safe. The display screen combined with the good graphics engine will offer you great movie or gaming experiences.

This models also has a full size keyboard with 10 numeric keys and a built in webcam, allowing you to always keep in touch with friends or family through a video conference. The price for the Toshiba Tecra A 11 – S 3520 is 999 dollars, and here are its technical details:

-         Processor – Intel® Core™ i5-430 M processor
-         operating system – Genuine Windows® XP Professional (32-bit, SP3) with Recovery Media for Genuine Windows® 7 Professional (this may depend on the store where you buy the laptop from)
-         memory – 3 GB DDR 3 1066 MHz
-         Graphics engine – Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator HD
-         Hard drive – 320 GB HDD ( 5400 rpm)
-         Optical drive – DVD-SuperMulti drive (+/-R double layer)
-         Other features –  LED backlit display, Mini Display port, numeric 10 key pad, EPEAT Gold Compliant, EasyGuard technology.

In this Dell vs. Toshiba battle, Dell definitely won. Not only that the Inspiron 1564 is 60 dollars cheaper, but it also offers better technical details. For example the processor is slightly better and it offers a genuine version of Windows 7 (the latest one) instead of Windows XP like the Toshiba model is offering. The hard drive and the optical drive for both models are pretty much the same, but the Dell Inspiron has 4 GB of RAM memory, while the Toshiba model has just 3 GB.

Both models have a full size keyboard and an integrated webcam, but the graphics engine from the Dell model is also a little better. And here is just one more advantage for the Dell model: it is available in three colors, not just in black like the model from Toshiba. We hope that now things are clear for you, and if you were not sure which notebook to choose between the Dell Inspiron 15 and the Toshiba Tecra A 11, you should choose the Dell. Have a nice day!

Toshiba vs Acer Notebook Computers

Published by OnlyBestLaptops, on Oct 30 2010, in the categories: acer, Toshiba

The laptops (also known as notebook computers) are getting really popular these days. At the beginning they were used mostly by business men but today many people are buying them no matter what job or age they have. The greatest thing about a notebook is its portability, meaning that you can carry it around with you and use it anytime you need to.

There are many companies that are producing good notebooks, and here are the most popular ones: Hewlett Packard, Acer, Asus, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, Fujitsu, MSI and Apple. Each company offers many families of notebooks, each family with its own models, and each model with its own characteristics. Usually all the notebooks have the same design, but they are different from one another in size, color and especially in technical details .

Both Acer and Toshiba are among the top 5 producers of personal computers in the world, so today we are going to focus on them. We’ll choose a model of notebook made by Acer, and a pretty similar one made by Toshiba and we’ll compare the two of them. We’ll take two models that are among the bests from each company and that come with the largest display screen available for a laptop,  that has 18.4 inch in diagonal.

From Acer we’ll choose the Aspire 8730 series, and from this series we’ll take the Acer AS 8730 – 6951 model. This one has a list price of 1.199 dollars. Thanks to it’s large widescreen display that has an aspect ratio of 16 : 9 you can enjoy full High Definition movies. And not just the image will be good, but also the sound, thanks to the Dolby Home Theater audio speakers. The design is simple and elegant, meaning that this notebook can be used by a young student but also by a more serious business man.

It also has a full size keyboard and a TouchPad device. And now here are all the technical details for this model:- operating system – Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium ; 64-bit version; – processor -  Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P 8600 (3 MB  L 2 Cache, 2.40 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB); – memory – 4 GB (2 / 2) DDR 2 667 SDRAM; – hard drive- 320 GB; – optical drive – integrated Super-Multi drive; – 6-in-1 card reader; – display screen – Acer® CineCrystal 18.4 ” WXGA+ (1680 x 945) TFT LCD; – graphics engine – NVIDIA® GeForce® 9600 M GT graphics; – 802.11a / b / g/ Draft-N WLAN, gigabit LAN, Bluetooth®, V.92 modem, – webcam; -  fingerprint reader; – eight cell battery; – one year limited warranty.

And now let’s take a notebook model from Toshiba, that also comes with a display of 18.4 inch diagonal. And one example would be the Qosmio X 500 series. Compared to the Aspire 8730, this one has a much more interesting design with red features. So this one would not be so suited for a serious business man, but will definitely be great for a young student. A teenager will also love this laptop thanks to its great technical details that allows him to play the most advanced video games.

But with this laptop you can also do other activities that require high performance components, such as video and audio editing. The sound for this laptop will also be very good thanks to its Harman Kardon integrated speakers. As we said this model also comes with a 18.4 inch diagonal widescreen display, that also has a 16:9 aspect ratio allowing you to enjoy movies in High Definition. Some models from this series even come with Blu Ray disc drive, allowing you to watch the movies at their best quality possible.

There are three models in this series, and here they are: the X 505 – Q 865 (that costs 1,214.99 dollars), the X 505 – Q 870 (that costs 1.499 dollars) and the X 500 – S 1801 (that has a price of 1549 dollars). So the version that is closest at price to the Acer model presented before is the X 505 – Q 865 that costs 1215 dollars. And now here are the technical details for this one: -Processor – Intel® Core™ i5-430 M processor; -  operating system – Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) (this may depend on the store where you buy the laptop from); -  memory – 4 GB DDR 3 1066 MHz; – Graphics engine – NVIDIA® GeForce® GTS 360 M; -Hard drive – 500 GB HDD ( 7200 rpm); – Optical drive – DVD-SuperMulti (+/-R double layer) with Labelflash™ drive; -  Other features –  Dolby Surround Sound Audio made by Harman Kardon.

So in terms of technical details and prices the Acer Aspire 8730 – 6951 and the Toshiba Qosmio X 505 – Q 865 are pretty much the same. The difference is that the Toshiba model is 15 dollars more expensive, but for these money you will have 180 GB of extra memory for the hard drive and also a copy of Windows 7 instead of Windows Vista. There is also a little difference in colors and design, so after all it is up to you to decide which model you like the best. But no matter which one you will choose, you will definitely be satisfied with it!
