EC14D Gateway is one of the first mini laptops small and thin which is equipped with an Intel CULV and a DVD burner, namely with a 8X Super Multi DVD drive. It has a 11.6 inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, measuring 29.2 cm x 21.1 cm x 3 cm and weighs 1.6 kg with 6 cell battery (5600 mAh) providing an autonomy of up to 8 hours.




Technical specifications for EC14D does not sound bad at all. SU4100 processor is an Intel Pentium dual core 1.3 GHz, which are pretty near a Mobile Intel GS45 Express chipset and an Intel GMA 4500MHD video accelerator, 4 GB of RAM (but may come to be and 8 GB) and a 320 hard drive GB. Touchpad has two buttons and supports multi-touch gestures. EC14D comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and has an HDMI port, 3 USB ports, integrated webcam, card reader Multi-in-one, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Ethernet. Will be available on the market with a starting price of 630 dollars.



Gateway missed the madness Pineview, but now finally given the furrow and announced the new Gateways LT21, a normal by 10.1 inch mini laptop using Intel Atom processor N450. Nothing special, as I say. The same Intel GMA 3150 graphics card, Wi-Fi 802.11, Ethernet, a 1 GB of RAM and storage type 160 or 250 GB HDD. Strikingly resembles the older Acer Aspire 1410. But facsimile’s Aspire 1410 or not, the new mini-notebook from Gateway, EC1805U, boasts an ultra-thin design and satisfactory performance. Comes with Windows Vista Home Premium and it works with an Intel Core 2 Solo SU3500 (1.4 GHz), 2 GB DDR2 RAM and 250 GB HDD. In addition, because the system CULV, 6-cell battery can reach a range of about 7 hours. And the size of 20.4 cm x 28.5 cm x 3 cm and weighing 1.4 kg make it easy to carry.

The new models are part of the same line. The cheapest is called NX570X, is equipped with a Core Duo 1.6 GHz, 80 GB HDD, 512 MB of memory, TFT 15 “WXGA, WiFi and Intel GMA 950 graphics card and may be purchased at a price of 750 USD ( app. 2100 USD). For high end, which offers Core 2 Duo 1.83 GHz, 2 GB of memory, 80 GB 7200 rpm HDD, DVD Writer and video card ATI Mobility ™ Radeon ® X1400 128MB, you have to put aside pretty sum of 1200 USD (apx. 3400 USD).
