A comparison of laptop computers is always useful when people don’t really know what laptop would suit them best, because there are some that have the same configuration. This is why, in what follows you will see a comparison of laptop computers and you’ll see on the one hand the HP EliteBook 8540p and on the other the HP TM2 Notebook. Hopefully, this comparison will allow you to understand the differences and the similitude there are between the two and will make you decide upon the one that suits you best.
First, we’ll talk about the HP EliteBook that has a 15.6″ HD display and a 1.6 GHz Intel Core i7 processor running on 2GB of RAM (which can be upgraded to 16GB! if there’s the need). The laptop features a 250GB hard drive, on which you can store all your personal stuff, including simple documents, music, games and even movies, that will look great thanks to the NVIDIA NVS 5100 graphics card.

The DVD+/-RW SuperMulti DL LightScribe has the purpose of burning your disks and allowing you to watch your DVD movies or play your DVD games. Moreover, you get the wireless connectivity to allow you to stay connected when you’re on the road and the webcam that will make your video-chatting experience even better. The 2.97-kg laptop also features an 8-Cell Lithium-Ion battery which has a great life, running for some 6 hours at maximum usage, so you don’t have to recharge it very often. Another thing, the laptop looks great with its sleek design and resistant chassis, so you’ll be pleasantly surprised if you decide upon purchasing it.

Now, let’s see the HP TM2’s features and see how different it is from the HP EliteBook. This one has a smaller screen than the above-mentioned one at only 12.1″, but embeds a 1.3 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo processor running on 3GB of RAM, which is also less powerful than the HP EliteBook’s, but perform well enough. However, the hard drive has a bigger storage capacity at 320GB and so, you have more space to use for storing your stuff than the other’s.
Of course, there’s also an 8X DVD+/-RW w/Double Layer to burn your CDs and the wireless connectivity that allows you to stay connected on the go. In matters of weight, the HP TM2 is lighter than the EliteBook at only 2.14kg and it also has an additional feature – the Fingerprint Reader which has the role of protecting your laptop from intruders who may cause damage. The battery, although a 6-Cell, has a better life, going without needing of plugging in for about 9 hours. This laptop is more portable than the EliteBook and this is why some of the features are poorer, but as a whole it is a good laptop computer which will perform all your tasks and will allow you to stay connected at any time and work in peace, as well as just relax, chatting with friends or playing online games or simply browsing the internet.
