Greatest IT Invention

Laptop computers ..the greatest invention in IT in my opinion. They are small, practical, easy to use and to carry around because they aren’t heavy at all and laptop computers are even for some of us fashionable. The laptop is designed for personal and mobile use. It is made out of almost the same parts the desktop computer is made of.




This typical components include a display, a keyboard, a touchpad or by case a trackpad, integrated speakers and a battery which practically gives life to laptop computers. Modern laptops don`t weigh very much and for many of us are light and slim. They are designed in a flip form factor in order to protect the screen and keyboard when nobody uses it.



Let`s talk about advantages .The first advantage a laptop computer offers you is portability. It means that you can carry it around with no problem.You can use it in many places such as at home, in the park, or at work. Another big advantage of using a laptop is the quick access to any information you want . You can power it up even when you are traveling by place or by bus, the only condition for doing this is to have your battery full. Another advantage that laptop computers offer you is connectivity. You can connect to the internet if you are in a wireless zone or you have an wireless stick which you place it in one of the laptops ports. Connectivity is very important for many of us because we have to stay in touch with live information or we have to speak to a friend of ours by webcam. Other advantages that laptop includes are the small size, ease of access, low power consumption and it is quiet and does’t make noise to bother you or other people that are near you.



Let`s talk about disadvantages now. In my opinion there aren`t so many. One big disadvantage is your own security because laptops are valuable , common and portable and they are the perfect targets for thieves. You can get robed or even get injured if you try to resist the theft. Another disadvantage is the generated heat of laptops which can injure you in various ways and it is recommended to use your laptop on a desk or obtaining a cooling unit. Heat from using a laptop on the lap can also cause skin discoloration on the thighs. In the following picture , you can see a laptop coaster which prevents the heating of the lap and improves the laptop`s airflow. In the last years , we can notice that people bought more and more laptop computers increasing the major companies profits. The third quarter of 2008 was the first time when notebook PC shipments exceeded desktops, with 38.6 million units versus 38.5 million units.



In conclusion buying a laptop is the best choice a person can make in computer materials because it is one of the most used electronic gadgets in the world.
