Toshiba released the a200 series as part of the Satellite family with no special idea in mind: simple and reliable laptops at low prices. The Satellite a205-s5825 is the perfect example of the series. It is the perfect laptop for beginners and for students because it doesn’t promise anything special and it delivers the perfect environment for basic usage.
Toshiba Satellite a205-s5825 has a simple configuration that assures the user of perfect speed for undemanding applications and all you need for homework and surfing the internet.
When you take a closer look, you will find the same thing we said before, but a little bit sweeter. The Intel Dual Core processor of 1.73 GHz and the 1 GB of RAM memory give you the speed for simple applications like Office and even previous versions of Photoshop or Corel Draw, and the 120 GB hard drive gives you the storage space you need for personal files, some music and some movies, too. The DVD-supermulti drive helps you make DVDs with all your home made movies and so on. The Atheros Wireless LAN and the Ethernet LAN give you access to internet in all conditions.
The 15.4 inch widescreen with WXGA makes watching movies or TV on your Toshiba Satellite a205-s5825 a great experience thanks to the TruBrite technology that Toshiba offers to its users. One of the main purposes of a laptop is mobility; for this reason, Toshiba equipped the a205-s5825 with a 6-Cell Li-Ion battery that provides energy for up to 4 hours of usage. This laptop also comes with 1-ExpressCard™ Slot, a 5-in-1 Bridge Media Adapter and 4-USB (2.0) ports, to assure maximum efficiency of your experience.
Along with the package, Toshiba provides the software required for the Satellite a205-s5825 to run from the moment you open the box and plug the AC adaptor. So, your laptop comes equipped with the following: Toshiba Assist , Memeo AutoSync , Memeo AutoBackup , Google Toolbar , Adobe Acrobat Reader , Toshiba Speech System , Toshiba Value Added Package , Toshiba Game Console , Toshiba ConfigFree , Google Desktop , Microsoft Office Professional 2007 (60 days trial) , Toshiba DVD Player , Sun Java 2 Runtime Environment , Toshiba Disc Creator , LoJack for Laptops , Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5 for Toshiba , Norton 360 , Google Picasa , Napster , Toshiba Extended Tiles for Windows Mobility Center and Google Earth.
You will find these very useful because you don’t need to search for software and you don’t have to install them. All these require time and work. When you see the Office software installed you should know that it’s a trial version and it runs only for 60 days. After that, you should purchase a Medialess License Kit (MLK) to activate the software. To avoid further complications, you should do a back up disk image because you might lose your settings when you install or change the status of some applications.
The Toshiba Satellite a205-s5825 is a very good and reliable piece of machinery. Don’t expect it to run demanding applications or games, because it won’t (and if it does, you won’t get quality). It is perfect for beginners and students for homework and internet surfing.
Greatest IT Invention
Published by OnlyBestLaptops, on Aug 09 2010, in the categories: General info, Technology
Laptop computers ..the greatest invention in IT in my opinion. They are small, practical, easy to use and to carry around because they aren’t heavy at all and laptop computers are even for some of us fashionable. The laptop is designed for personal and mobile use. It is made out of almost the same parts the desktop computer is made of.
This typical components include a display, a keyboard, a touchpad or by case a trackpad, integrated speakers and a battery which practically gives life to laptop computers. Modern laptops don`t weigh very much and for many of us are light and slim. They are designed in a flip form factor in order to protect the screen and keyboard when nobody uses it.

Let`s talk about advantages .The first advantage a laptop computer offers you is portability. It means that you can carry it around with no problem. You can use it in many places such as at home, in the park, or at work. Another big advantage of using a laptop is the quick access to any information you want . You can power it up even when you are traveling by place or by bus, the only condition for doing this is to have your battery full. Another advantage that laptop computers offer you is connectivity. You can connect to the internet if you are in a wireless zone or you have an wireless stick which you place it in one of the laptops ports. Connectivity is very important for many of us because we have to stay in touch with live information or we have to speak to a friend of ours by webcam. Other advantages that laptop includes are the small size, ease of access, low power consumption and it is quiet and does’t make noise to bother you or other people that are near you.

Let`s talk about disadvantages now. In my opinion there aren`t so many. One big disadvantage is your own security because laptops are valuable , common and portable and they are the perfect targets for thieves. You can get robed or even get injured if you try to resist the theft. Another disadvantage is the generated heat of laptops which can injure you in various ways and it is recommended to use your laptop on a desk or obtaining a cooling unit. Heat from using a laptop on the lap can also cause skin discoloration on the thighs. In the following picture , you can see a laptop coaster which prevents the heating of the lap and improves the laptop`s airflow. In the last years , we can notice that people bought more and more laptop computers increasing the major companies profits. The third quarter of 2008 was the first time when notebook PC shipments exceeded desktops, with 38.6 million units versus 38.5 million units.

In conclusion buying a laptop is the best choice a person can make in computer materials because it is one of the most used electronic gadgets in the world.
Affordable IT Technology

Due to the constant evolution of technology, laptops aren’t quite what they used to be a few years ago in terms of their price tags. Nowadays I think it’s safe to assume that virtually anyone can afford a portable system. Of course, when I said system I didn’t mean some kind of high performance device that cost thousands of dollars, I was referring to cheap, affordable laptops that are priced somewhere between $400 and $1000.
Bargains existed, exist and will always exist. Today, with a simple search on Google you can find your dream laptop at a very acceptable price. Concepts like “if I buy a second hand thing it will break immediately and it is definitely not worth the money”. This over-used concept doesn’t apply if you plan on buying a second hand laptop.

IT technology doesn’t wear off in time in terms of quality and reliability. A personal computer can last up to 10 years if used properly. Of course by that time that system will be considered a valuable artifact and stored somewhere in a museum or, more probably in your nearby recycle center. The point is that if you buy an already used laptop you save a lot of money and in most cases the product that you will buy will be almost as reliable as a system that you’ve just got out of its box. Of course there are exceptions, but it’s your job as a buyer to avoid them.
If you are planning to buy a laptop and your budget isn’t enough for a new $1000 or more expensive system I recommend you to search websites like eBay or Amazon.com. I can guarantee that you will find what you are looking for. Another solution could be visiting one of your local IT shops. Chances are you will find more expensive items than on the internet but it’s worth trying if you plan an spending a significant part of your budget. Let’s take a look at the Dell’s Inspiron 11Z. Its 4 GB of RAM, 1,3 GHz dual-core processor and generous 200gb hard drive makes it a good buy, especially if we add the price, just under $500 ( $475 ).

If the Dell Inspiron was too expensive for you then I suggest you take a look at the Compaq Presario CQ61Z. Priced somewhere around $400, the Compaq Presario CQ61Z is a reliable and relatively fast system. It has a 2 GB AMD Sempron processor, 2 GB of RAM and a hard drive of 250 Gb. If we add the 15.6 inch display we are looking at a very nice product in terms of the price to performance ratio. These are only two of the many bargains that are out there waiting to be discovered. If you are planning to buy a laptop, the first thing you need, besides money, is patience. I’m sure the hours spent in IT shops and browsing the internet will eventually pay off and you will find the cheap laptop that you were looking for. I wish you good luck!
Expensive Laptop Technology
Published by OnlyBestLaptops, on Aug 07 2010, in the categories: Technology
Within the past few years technology has evolved with a mind-blowing speed making the cutting edge technologies of today old and almost free within 5 or 6 months. This has been the general flow of events if we look back in time a few years ago. Remember how things were in 2005 for example. Someone walking on the street with a laptop would have been a very rare occurrence. Public Wi-Fi places were only in the project phase and no one could imagine that these places will be filled to capacity just a couple of years later.
Prices have also evolved dramatically in the past years. Upon their first appearance on the market laptops had staggering prices and not anyone could afford such a luxurious and somewhat opulent item. Now let’s take a look at today’s market. Laptops are spread all over the place, their price tags aren’t as impressive as they used to be and almost everybody can afford one with little or even no financial effort at all. Why is this? Mainly because of the general evolution that took place in a relatively short period of time.

Technology has become cheaper and cheaper as the labor force has been replaced by robots and so lowering the salary costs and partially eliminating the human factor. This was a direct result of the division of labor which made possible the insertion of advanced technologies like robots doing our work, in all areas of activity. But the fast paced evolution in the laptop industry is also ensured by most big companies which include in their projects the imminent obsolescence of their products. Aware of people’s tendency to change old products with up-to-date new and better ones, whether they need them or not, these big companies are permanently working on developing ultramodern electronic products. And so we will always choose buying the new shiny laptop, classy but dazzlingly complicated and with the most impressive performances, even though this will probably mean emptying our pockets a little bit more than we planned. Still, they remain affordable for the majority of people and it seems that the following years the concept of a laptop in our houses, at school or work, or when going out for a bite, will be associated with an obvious necessity.
As I said, you can find laptops virtually everywhere, on any market. They also come in a high variety of sizes and of course, performances. If you are the most serious gamer, you are a professional photographer, you like to edit your family movies or you just want a portable device so you can log on and chat with your buddies while you’re traveling you can always find a laptop that suits your interests and, most importantly your budget.

I strongly advice you not to think that today’s technology is at its peak. It’s not even close. The systems that are priced today around $3000-$4000 will most likely be sold as cheap and ordinary systems in the following years as new technology barges in and out-levels the one already existent. This is how things worked up until this very day and I’m certain that this will be the general flow of events in the future.
