Step 1: Determine whether you need a new screen again.
If your laptop fell on the floor or you have hit and broke your screen, the diagnosis is easy. Connect an external monitor to your notebook via VGA port to see if there is any more video. If the laptop works well in all other respects, it is time to determine what kind of  screen will be needed.
