Then it came Lenovo turn to launch the X300, a laptop made with the newest technologies, perhaps the most complete of the series, but with a cost of about $ 3,000. Toshiba has a price of almost 3600 dollars. After seen that the series of expensive products were unsuccessful, big players have started to launch products in direct competition with Asus Eee PC.

Americans from Hewlett-Packard have launched the new HP 2133 Mini Note PC, Dell officially announced the mini laptop XPS M1210 and Asus confirmed two new models of ultra-light laptops Eee PC 900 and the U2E, while Intel attacks this segment with the Classmate 2, which will become commercially soon.

Many of the new laptops do not come only with a new design. Intel’s Classmate project has started in parallel with the OLPC and somewhat had the same purpose: to be an educational laptop, especially for children, to be used in schools worldwide. But the Classmate PC has not earned the support of the authorities, despite the support of Microsoft, which provided for Windows XP for this laptop computers. So Intel will sell the Classmate 2 in stores, like the competitor of Eee PC. Unbelievable how many new products were born after the OLPC XO has received the praises of the IT industry.
