Laptop Reviews
Published by OnlyBestLaptops, on Jul 22 2010, in the categories: laptops, Review
Laptop computers are becoming more and more popular and people seem to forget about desktop PC’s. They are very practical and they seem to get better and smaller each day. In what follows you will see some laptop reviews just to get an idea about how things work with them and what they are good at. These laptop reviews are focused on two laptops: the HP Pavilion HDX Dragon and the Dell Adamo Let’s take a look at their features and see what they can do.
We’ll start with the HP Pavilion HDX Dragon, which is a laptop used by gamers. The laptop was created as a desktop PC replacement, so it’s really heavy and big, so you won’t be able to carry it around with you. However, it is really handsome and the 101-key keyboard has the numeric pad included, so it’s really useful to introduce data into your computer. The design is really awesome thanks to the Dragon imprint finish that looks great. The 20.1″ WSXGA+ High-Definition Ultra BrightView Widescreen Display will make your games look really awesome and you’ll be able to see even the minor details that are so important in games.

In the performance department, you get the Intel Santa Rosa Core 2 Duo platform and the ATI Radeon HD 2600XT Graphics with 256MB DDR3 dedicated graphics memory, which will make your games run smoothly and without problems. Although it is quite expensive, the laptop deserves all the money, because aside of the fact that the “hood” looks amazing, what’s under it is even more breath-taking. All in all, this is the type of laptop you want for your games and if you have the money to buy it, than it’s a great deal.

The other laptop computer we’ll review is the Dell Adamo that is different from the previously mentioned laptop, because this one cannot be used as a gaming laptop, but as a traveling and entertainment laptop. It comes with features like the ULV (Ultra Low Voltage) 1.2GHz Core 2 Duo processor running on 2GB of RAM, which is fairly enough for entertainment purposes. The laptop is very thin, gorgeous and solidly built, but is very expensive and has a poor performance. However, it can power you through your daily tasks and applications and will also allow you to watch your movies in high quality.
The truth is that Dell released this little fellow to compete against Apple’s MacBook Air and when you use it, you truly feel that you are holding in your hands a very expensive laptop. Also, you get the very nice-looking edge-to-edge glass display with a native resolution of 1,366×768. To loose some weight, Dell decided not to include in the package an optical drive, but you can always buy an external drive to solve your problems. All in all, if you need to travel light and work at the same time or if you want to spend great movie nights with your family, this is a good choice for a laptop, but it is true, it is very expensive.

AMD Notebook
Published by OnlyBestLaptops, on Jul 20 2010, in the categories: AMD, laptops
I’m guessing that almost every person that knows the basic things about computers has come to a point when the question “what’s the difference between AMD and Intel processors” popped in their heads. The truth is that for a long time the difference between them was like the difference between Pepsi and Coca Cola, if you know what I mean. However, it is true that slower AMD processors provide the same result that faster Intel processors offer, but at different speed (take for instance the case in which the AMD at 1.66GHz was the same as an INTEL on 1,8GHz). This is why, in what follows you will be presented to a couple of AMD laptop computers to see both their features and their prices.
First on out AMD laptop computers list is the LENOVO ThinkPad X100e that, obviously, comes with a 1.0 GHz AMD Athlon processor that is powered by 1GB of RAM. The laptop is not as fast as others, but it does a good job as a home use laptop. The laptop has also an 11.6-inch screen and a 160GB hard drive, good for storing all your stuff, like documents, music, photos and games. The laptop is also great as a business laptop, because it will allow you to perform your tasks and applications without any problems. The price of the laptop is also cheap, so that anyone can afford it, and it costs around $429.99 at amazon.com.

The next laptop is the HP Pavilion DM3-1035DX that also comes with an AMD Athlon Neo X2 dual-core processor L335 1.6GHz that is powered by 3GB of RAM. Another thing about the laptop is that it has a huge 320GB hard drive, good for stocking almost anything you have, but it doesn’t have an optical drive, so you should get an external drive, just in case. However, you get great battery life and light weight, so you’ll be able to carry it around with you in your travels but also to stay connected with family and friends thanks to the wireless connectivity and the built-in webcam. The price for this system is around $749.89, which even though it seems a lot, it isn’t if you give a second thought to the amazing features it embeds.

Out last stop is at the Acer Aspire AS5538-1672 LX.PE90X.121 Notebook PC. The laptop has, of course, a 1.2GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core L310 processor running on 4GB of DDR2 SDRAM memory, which makes it the best in the entertainment department, helped too by the 64-bit Windows Vista Home Premium operating system that comes with a multitude of superb multimedia features and also thanks to the 15.6-inch HD Widescreen Acer CineCrystal LED-backlit TFT LCD display with a native resolution of 1366 x 768 and a cinematic 16:9 aspect ratio. Although it has so many great features, among which the 250GB hard drive, good for storing personal stuff, and the 8X SuperMulti optical drive, the laptop is not even that expensive, as it costs around $499.96.
Laptop Computers

Laptop computers are those systems that are really small, so small in fact that they fit into your lap. Usually, laptop computers are used by those who travel a lot, because they are easy to carry around, but there are also laptops that are used as replacements for desktop computers, these are heavier and they usually stay on the desk, because they are to heavy to be carried around. There are also laptops that are especially designed for students, businesspeople, gamers or for photographers and each category has its features and its needs. Taking into account that there a many laptop computers on the market nowadays, we will make a short review of the laptop computers that are now on the top of the list with the best systems so you’ll be able to get an idea about what laptops are and how their features should look like.
Let’s take top 3 and see what these laptops look like. On the 3rd place is the Lenovo’s IdeaPad Y650 which shocks with its handsome design. The laptop is very slim and light and that makes it a very portable one, which can be used either by students or businesspeople who generally need to travel a lot and work at the same time. Besides, you get an amazing 16-inch display and an enormous touchpad. However, the laptops, as they all, has some minor faults like the poor battery life, it is skimpy on ports, it is a bit pricy and the keyboard is too small, which will make typing a little difficult. But, as a whole, the laptop is amazing with its Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 2.53GHz processor that runs 4GB RAM, its 320GB hard drive and the 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce G105M GPU.

On the 2nd place is the Apple MacBook 2008 Release that is probably the best looking laptop available. Let’s start with the bad things you’ll find in the laptop, or better said the things you won’t find. You don’t get Fire Wire, for instance, so you won’t be able to wireless, there is no external monitor-out adapter included, there’s no digital media card reader and getting used to the buttonless touchpad will take a while; the price is also a little higher than expected. However, you some stunning features that will make the faults look very uninteresting. The aluminum enclosure is probably the thing that makes the laptop so handsome; you get the dedicated nVidia GPU and the revolutionary unibody construction. Moreover, you benefit of the 13.3″ LED-backlit LCD that will make your movies look beautiful, and other features that will make the laptop worthy of its price.

On the 1st place is, of course, the Asus UL30VT that aside of the fact that it has no optical drive and the screen is not what you would expect, the laptop has nothing wrong with it. Moreover, it has switchable graphics, there’s a great keyboard and touchpad, you get long battery life and the design is stunningly beautiful and the price is not even that high, so almost anyone can afford such a system. All in all, the Asus deserved its place on the list, as the best laptop.
