HP Envy 15

HP is finally returning to something more sober, which is very valuable. In concept, the chassis is composed of a single block of aluminum like the MacBook. The material used is magnesium, which helps to design a lightweight and durable chassis. Only the cover of the screen is made of aluminum, which reinforces the impression of quality that emerges from the machine. All is well assembled and the finish is excellent.
Large and full, the keyboard is a model keys spaced from each other (chicklet). Comfort is very good with a touchdown and a pleasant typing noise moderate. At the outset, we regret the lack of backlighting that is sorely lacking in the dark. Feeling reinforced by the provision of multimedia keys. These are in effect on the left side of the keyboard, which is probably nice, but completely impractical to use. We actually used to find some important keys to the extreme left of the keyboard (CTRL, SHIFT, TAB, etc.), and the absence of more formal separation with the function keys to lose familiar landmarks.
The touchpad is really excellent. Very wide (100 x 62 mm), it provides impressive comfort, with good accuracy and a very good glide. With a matte coating, it is clickable multipoint over half of its surface. One would often find that level of quality on other laptops.
This lack of resolution and sharpness, and overexposed areas are also burned. However, the fluidity is excellent. HP Envy 15 webcamlive webcam is correct throughout.Very good point with regard to night vision, since it automatically switches to infrared mode when the brightness down. It obviously loses the colors (from white to black), but it can be seen in complete darkness! The breakdown of the Envy 15 is unfortunately noisy. A fan blows constantly and switches turbine during treatment or during certain heavy large file copies. The heat has probably difficult to evacuate, what we see going hand in the machine.
The connection is very limited and ports are all arranged on the right spine of the machine, with the exception of food left and the card reader 2 in 1 front. There are 3 USB 2.0 combo with 1 e-SATA, 1 HDMI, 1 RJ45 port combo lock and a headset. The key is there, except that this model does not carry a scanner!

HP Laptops

Handling, Ergonomics. From the first grip, we feel that HP wanted to create a product esthetics finishes impeccable. This is the case. Nothing creaks or exceeds all and inspires confidence. The keyboard is large, and the keys are comfortable for entering text. It is very far from the models 7 and 9 inches in typing comfort. Between the keyboard and touchpad, you can note the presence of a button which serves to disable the pavement. Very useful for text input as this feature prevents unintentional movement of the mouse.
The touch pad is elongated. The clicks buttons are positioned on the sides to gain depth. The surface of this element is dull and the first downside of this section: unfortunately the slides is not optimal. The finger grip a little, and we’ve seen better elsewhere. The height of the pad is measured at 3.5 cm. It picked up a bit and smaller than the 1002HA, for example. Regarding the food: easily plug out of its location, just turn it on herself.
Be careful to check out its position if you want to reload your machine. A point to raise on the noise emitted by the machine. When it is heavily used, its internal fan snaps. This creates a little noise: not very high yet very present. The webcam image is frankly disappointing. Indoors, with average brightness, the image reproduced is very dark. We can hardly recognize not features of the person. To counter this effect, push the brightness up to an average score in the end. As for the microphone, we were unable to make it work.
On the slices of the device include: two USB (that bit), 1 RJ45 (behind a plastic cover), a socket extension, a mini-jack and a memory card reader. What about the video output? There is not, at least not directly. HP indicates the possibility of buying a cable to plug into the The speaker is located above the keyboard. It is present in the form of a large metal bar. The sound it produces is very average. There is just enough to watch a flm, alone with his machine. We recommend you use headphones to fully enjoy particularly low. On the netbook, the only element that you have access, apart from the battery, is the barrette RAM (brand Ramaxel) 1 GB Calculations. The components of mini-notebooks can be counted on the fingers of the hand. The most common combination for the 10-inch Intel Atom NV270 + Intel GMA 950 and hard disk. This model does not cut tradition. The only two items on which they can differentiate themselves, are the RAM and hard drive. Here, in this case, the second is not very satisafaisant for two reasons. Its capacity is only 60GB (where other phones amounted to 160 GB), and its maximum transfer rate is 30 GB disc in early (against 70 MB for the most efficient). The boot time (boot time) is also a little behind with 1 minute 5 seconds (cons 30 seconds for the fastest).
The CPU, it will be recalled, allows all the operations of conventional laptops. But compared to a current model mid / high range, it takes two to three times longer for the same tasks of file compression, or retouching of images for example. In video, the only restrictions are very heavy on the HD, the computer then shows its limits.expansion port to a VGA output.
HP Vs Toshiba Laptop

<p>Most of the common laptop users are not that committed to a particular brand. They have general ideas and preferences, but they don’t appeal to a certain brand. When going out to buy a laptop, you have to face tough decisions regarding the product you desire. You have to find the perfect compromise between price, performance and personal requirements (such as screen size and accessories).
<p>Many brands are associated as being in competition on the same target. Such an example is <strong>HP vs. Toshiba</strong>. The reason is very simple: similar performances and similar prices. We will try to find the differences between these two brands. For this, you have to find a laptop from each manufacturer, that have very similar specifications. To not be interpreted as advertising for one brand, we shall select older models of HP and Toshiba for this example. We have the <strong>HP Pavilion DV4170 vs. the Toshiba Satellite M45-S355</strong>. We will take every specification offered by the manufacturers and analyze them in parallel.
First, we will look at the processor because it’s one of the most important parts and you can’t really upgrade it. Both laptops have Pentium CPUs with 533 MHz FSB and 2 MB L2 cache, but the Toshiba has a slightly more powerful one (M750 of 1.86 GHz) than the HP model in question (the M740 of 1.73 GHz). It’s not a big difference but for some it may be an important (although you can’t really feel the difference). The RAM memory and video card are practically identical (1 GB of DDR333 SDRAM and Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 of 128 MB shared). At first sight, the hard drives are identical (do to the 100GB storage space each laptop features), but the difference is again on the Toshiba side, thanks to the 5400RPM speed, superior to the 4200 RPM provided by the HP HDD.
The next thing that we saw was the speakers; Toshiba comes equipped with Harmon Kardon and HP with Altec Lansing. They are both good and give similar sounds, but the difference is the position: on the Toshiba the speakers are in the back, under the laptop, while the HP has the speakers in the front of the case; here, opinions may vary, because it’s a matter of preference. A plus for HP is the exceptional ports because HP offers Media Card Reader (SD, MMC, Memory stick/pro, XD, Smart Media), express card and IR, while Toshiba offers only media card reader (MMC, SD, memory stick/pro and XD). One thing that Toshiba hasn’t got and HP does is a remote located in the card slot and also HP headphones.
Another advantage of HP is HP Quick Play; it’s a feature that allows the user to play CDs, DVDs and MP3s from the hard drive without booting. The Toshiba also has its own version, the Toshiba Express Media Player, but this doesn’t allow playing MP3s from HDD, just CDs and DVDs. The worst part of the <strong>Toshiba</strong> when <strong>compared to HP</strong> is the battery life. Usually the battery life of this Toshiba is around 2 hours and a half, less than the 3 hours and 20 that is offered by HP. Displays are almost identical, the Toshiba has a 15.4 inch WXGA display with TruBrite Technology and the HP has a 15.4 inch WXGA HD BrightView screen. The prices are similar, but the HP is more expensive.
From here you will have to decide which one you like best (<strong>Toshiba vs. HP</strong>), and apply the method in real world, when you search for a laptop of your own.
HP Laptops

If you are asking yourself “What laptops should I buy?” you should read the information below and decide afterwards what laptop you should purchase.
TABLET- Comparable in size and weight with ultra portable laptops, tablets offer the unique possibility of hand writing and surfing through menus, documents and web pages directly from the display, by using a special pen, called stylus. The most common type of tablets is the convertible one which looks like a normal laptop, but which has a display that rotates 180 degrees and then applies over the key board. Another type of tablet is the small tablet. The small tablets usually lack the key board and the only way to introduce a text or to surf the web is through the display.
ULTRA PORTABLE – The smallest and the lighter laptops, ultra portables have a compact shape and are usually destined for people who travel a lot and who always need their laptops with them. But be careful, because the smaller they are, the less performances they have. These laptops have small key boards, small displays and very few ports and connectors. The small dimensions are also to be translated in “high prices”.
EASY LAPTOPS – An easy laptop offers the optimum combination between portability, performance, equipment and price. Having unique processors, which are more and more powerful, ergonomic key boards and displays that are more friendly than the ultra potables and the tablets, easy laptops also have an optic unit and allow you to work easier and faster. Even if they are more expensive than the mainstreams, easy laptops offer maximum performance in a mobile gadget.
MEDIUM LAPTOPS (MAINSTREAM) – Medium laptops or mainstream laptops are the only ones who are not created to suit a certain need. For example, ultra portable laptops offer portability, desktop replacers offer performance like no other laptop, but mainstream laptops do not offer all that. This is why mainstream laptops are the cheapest laptops, but this does not mean you cannot find expensive mainstream laptops in stores. Mainstream laptops offer everything you need like text processing, photo editing, CD and DVD writing, Web browsing and online communication. But mainstream laptops are not usually destined to those who travel a lot.
DESKTOP REPLACERS – Desktop replacers are the largest and the heaviest types of laptops. As their name shows, desktop replacers are conceived for power and performance the way a desktop does it (by that, I mean the PC we are all familiar with). Too heavy and too big for nothing more than being transported from one room to another, the desktop replacers offer the largest screens and key boards, as well as the best connections and equipment. Desktop replacers can be used for video editing, 3D graphics, multimedia and games in optimum conditions.
If you are a fan of HP laptop computers, like I am, I recommend you to visit the shopping.hp.com site and surf it. I am sure you will find something to suit your needs. I always used HP laptop computers and my latest purchase is HP Pavilion dv7t Quad Edition, quad core performance, 1 GB discrete graphics, wide screen (17.3” inches), with 16:9 aspect ratio power packed solution and lots of fun! It also includes the latest Intel Core i7 processors.
