A plus for HP is the exceptional ports because HP offers Media Card Reader (SD, MMC, Memory stick/pro, XD, Smart Media), express card and IR, while Toshiba offers only media card reader (MMC, SD, memory stick/pro and XD). One thing that Toshiba hasn’t got and HP does is a remote located in the card slot and also HP headphones.

Another advantage of HP is HP Quick Play; it’s a feature that allows the user to play CDs, DVDs and MP3s from the hard drive without booting. The Toshiba also has its own version, the Toshiba Express Media Player, but this doesn’t allow playing MP3s from HDD, just CDs and DVDs. The worst part of the <strong>Toshiba</strong> when <strong>compared to HP</strong> is the battery life. Usually the battery life of this Toshiba is around 2 hours and a half, less than the 3 hours and 20 that is offered by HP. Displays are almost identical, the Toshiba has a 15.4 inch WXGA display with TruBrite Technology and the HP has a 15.4 inch WXGA HD BrightView screen. The prices are similar, but the HP is more expensive.
