HP Pavilion DV7 is the name of the laptop we have tested. Although we did not have too much time for these tests we can certainly say two things; it surprised us how good it moves despite the 1.6 GHz processor and the screen seems very good although it is not Full High Definition. Despite the 17.3 inch screen and the 9 cell battery, the laptop is good for transport with only 3.5 Kg.

It is a system developed for multimedia even if it isn’t for gamers. The great performance is given by the quad core processor AMD Phenom P920 which even if it runs at 1.6 GHz, the i7 Core model plus Turbo Boost is offering a way bigger performance. The version with AMD is offering reduced power consumption and for our activities it was perfect. It has an optical unit and great sound thanks to the special designed speakers. The screen has 1600 x 900 pixels resolution and maybe that’s why the general impression is very good – over the classical 1376 x 800 pixels and closer to the user because personally we don’t feel comfortable with 1920 x 1080 or maybe the Windows interface is the problem.

The ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics card which has 1 GB of dedicated memory can use 2.71 GB of memory including the RAM. The laptop has 4 GB of memory. One on top of another, the colors are great and the general experience leaves a good impression. As possessors of an older version of HP Pavilion, we used and tested this HP Pavilion DM3 with the curiosity of actual and possible buyer of this series. We admit that we are not a fan of the 13 inches portables like this HP Pavilion DM3 because our laptops are sitting on the desk most of the time and we prefer the comfort of a bigger screen and a more powerful processor.

The screen is offering quality and standard angles without any other remarks. It measures 13.3 inches and it is offering resolutions of 1366 x 768 pixels. The keyboard is a chick-let with ordinary size keys with good distance between them. There is no problem with writing on this keyboard. HP Pavilion G6 is the newest HP model and comes with Dual Core P6200 processor which is the best processor from the dual-core series on laptops today. HP Mini 1000 is a much awaited update for the previous HP Mini-Note 2133. This device is completely refreshed and embodies a configuration for any budget. This might well be the best from the Mini series yet.
