Classmate PC is also part of the affordable laptops to the purchase price, fully equipped, compact and robust, designed to promote interactive and collaborative learning among students and teachers. Classmate PC was created by Intel as an alternative to the OLPC (One Laptop per Child) and, according to the reviews, this third generation exceeds other competitors. The main advantage of Intel’s cheap laptop is that it can support both Windows XP Professional, and two Linux distributions: Mandriva Discovery 2007 and Metasys Classmate 2.0. Pretty impressive, right? Other equipment (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, webcam, etc.) suddenly become some widgets. Alienware M17x’s weight starts at 5.3 kg and the configuration presented here for you reaches 6 kg without any problems. Mobility? 9 cell battery? What difference does it make when you have a monster that can run any new game? For this configuration the price is of $ 3370. Oops!

Toshiba Qosmio X300-14U
Qosmio X300-14U is something fresher on the market and less customizable than Dell, but it certainly has something to say at the performance chapter. Qosmio X300-14U’s case looks flawless and the sound can’t be anyway less then just perfect because it has on its board a Harman Kardon audio system with 5 speakers: two for the average frequency, 2 for high and one for the bass. The processor is a “modest” Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9300 working at frequencies of 2.53 GHz. Qosmio X300-14U is part of the gaming laptop computers after all so you should feel the power of two NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTS graphics cards in SLI configuration with 2 x 512 MB memory. We may also obtain up to 1791 MB of memory via TurboCache technology.

It would be foolish to put more than the 4 GB of RAM, as much as you installed, but you can add yet another on that. Hard disk? Two pieces of each 320 GB go? There are the less pleasant parts when it comes to optical drive. You have the option of a Blu-ray drive, pretty good at what may be the Qosmio X300-14U. Perhaps the producer was not thinking about this fact because of the screen that leads only 1.680 x 1.050 pixels. There is no sense that you think about the issue of connectivity. Qosmio X300-14U has everything you could ask for in a computer or even more. The only option for RAM is 6 GB DDR3 from Corsair, which is not so bad. At the hard disk chapter you can chose two pieces to 500 GB, but you can also choose two SSD in 80 GB or 160 GB version of something more expensive. Battalion 101 D900F comes with a card reader, with Wi-Fi Draft-N module, with a webcam with a resolution of 3 megapixel and for the operating system you are forced to choose a Windows. You have a lot of options for peripherals that you can also add to make your laptop as you wish. Battalion 101 D900F configured like this costs only about 2490 euro. I say only considering the prices of the colleagues above.
