For those who want to get an idea about how laptop computers should be looking nowadays, we will be comparing the best laptop computers, in what follows. Just to get an idea, we will talk a bit about their features and their design. After comparing the best laptop computers, we reached the conclusion that the Apple MacBook and the Lenovo IdeaPad S10 are the best laptops that exist on the market at the moment. Let’s take a look at them and see if they deserve they place at the top of the list.
The Apple MacBook has maybe the best design yet with its ‘unibody” aluminum chassis and without the trackpad button. In the hardware department we’ll see the 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile processor that is powered by 2GB of RAM which will enable the laptop to run even the most demanding applications; not to talk about the latest 3D games that run smoothly on this awesome laptop. These games are also powered by the NVIDIA 9400M that is among the best graphic cards there are.

The only bad part of this amazing laptop computer is that it doesn’t have any holes drilled in that fancy chassis of its and that make the Fire Wire nonexistent and there are only 2 USB ports, so you’ll have to deal with that. However, the features that this laptop computer embeds won’t be found in a similar system. Although the price is a bit higher than most, this laptop computer is worth every cent and you will be very pleased with it and the way in which it performs the tasks and mostly, the way in which your games will look. Moreover, the laptop comes with a 160GB hard drive on which you can store anything you want from the simplest documents to entire movies, games and favorite music.

The second best laptop computer is the Lenovo IdeaPad S210 that has a very fancy MacBook-like design that will definitely please your eyes. Although the laptop comes with only 80GB of storage space on the hard drive and 512MB of RAM, for an extra $50, you’ll get a 160GB hard drive and 1GB of RAM. However, the two USB ports, VGA out, headphone, microphone, LAN, multi-card reader, Bluetooth and Express Card are a very nice touch to the connectivity department. On the other hand, the keyboard doesn’t impress much – it feels a little cramped and it has some weird-shaped keys that you might find useless. Although a 6-Cell battery would have been nice, the 3-Cell still delivers an average of 4 hours. Also a great thing is the fact that this laptop can be upgraded at any time, so don’t fear the not-so-powerful features because you’ll be able to upgraded and make it better. All in all, the 10.2-inch, 2.4lbs laptop computers is a great purchase that besides the little RAM and the cramped keyboard, there’s nothing wrong with it, it even has features you won’t find in similar laptops and it is also very affordable in matter of price.

We all know how careless students are when it comes to their laptops. They put in their backpacks along with books, CDs, pens and other stuff that might hurt their laptops. This is why, below is a list of 3 of the best laptop computers for college students.
On the first place is Dell’s Studio 15 laptop, that besides of the fact that its design can be adjusted to a student’s preferences with some 5 colors and more than 200 unique designs, it also embeds a 15.4-inch LED backlit display with a native resolution of 1,440×900. On the performance department, the laptop includes a 2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 CPU that is powered by a 2GB RAM. Moreover, the 250GB hard drive is more than enough for a student to store his/her school papers, games, movies and music. The 6-Cell battery provides some 3-4 hours at minimum usage that is surfing the internet or writing papers while listening to music, which is reasonable for a laptop computer designed for students. The light weight is not only because of the improved features, but also because the Studio 15 has plastic accents that will provide some pressure elasticity if you drop it off your desk or something. The cost of this laptop is around $549, which is not even that much if you consider the features provided.

Second on the list of the best laptop computers for college students is the HP Pavilion dv2 that features the AMD Athlon Neo processor that has the power to handle Blu-Ray movies as well as to take you to all your games levels, without facing any problems. Its smooth with rounded edges compact design makes it easy for you to carry it around. Thanks to its magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis that is quite rigid, the laptop will survive any abuse it may be faced with when hanging in a student’s backpack. When writing a paper, a student will need silence around him and this will be provided by the keyboard that makes little noise and it is also very well constructed, with no place of bouncing. Also, the movies will look great on the 12.1″ WXGA glossy widescreen display that features LED backlighting and whose colors are vibrant and bright. The three USB ports and the media card reader are also found on this little but powerful laptop. Is true that the price is a bit higher than the above laptop, but at $750 the laptop really delivers.

Last, but not least is the Apple MacBook Air that features a 1.60GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor powered by 2GB of RAM and a SATA 80GB HDD on which a student can store his/her documents, photos and movies. The MacBook Air is also very thin, so you will meet no problem when carrying it around, but also has a great battery life. The a USB 2.0 port, the headphone jack and a micro-DVI port that supports DVI, VGA, composite and S-video output can also be found on this great laptop and it also has the MagSafe power connection that was especially rebuilt to fit the slim MacBook Air. It is more expensive than other laptops for students, but it’s worth every cent.
Best Rated Notebooks
Published by OnlyBestLaptops, on Jul 12 2010, in the categories: Best Laptop Prices, Best Rated category
When doing this list, we based on the highest average points scored by reviewing all the aspects – performance as well as mobility, design and other features, the list of best rated laptop computers embeds the best notebooks in this category that are not necessarily cheap.
With 4.8 points out of 5, on the first place of our review is the Asus UL30VT, that strikes with its 13-inch, 1366×768 16:9 screen. What makes the difference between the UL30VT and the regular UL30 is the inclusion of a “Hybrid Graphics” solution that in battery-saving mode runs on the Intel 4500mhd IGP (integrated graphics), but when you need more performance you can simply switch to the Nvidia GeForce G210M dedicated GPU. The battery life is another aspect in which the CULV CPUs act like perfect stars and the UL30VT has been equipped with an 8-cell battery about which Asus sustains that it can last about 12 hours without recharging, which is an overly optimistic number. However, after testing, we got to the conclusion that it lasts almost an entire workday. All in all, the Asus UL30VT is a great laptop that combines excellent battery life and a powerful graphics card in a great package.
On the second place, with 4.7 points out of 5, is located the Apple MacBook 2008 Release, that marks some big points in the design department. The new MacBook is even thinner and even lighter than before, which is awesome. At 4.5 pounds, its weight evenly distributed across the system thanks to its unibody construction. In the performance area, the laptop has an Intel Core2Duo 2.0 GHz model that is capable of handling even the most demanding applications and it also comes with a 160GB hard drive and 2GB of RAM (with the 1066Mhz FSB).

The third place, with an average of 4.6 out of 5 points, is occupied by the Alienware M15x. Besides the fact that is a great gaming laptop, it is also powered by a NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTX video card that carries some 512 MB of discrete memory and that has the ability to suck your battery dry, but well, if you like your games to be awesome, than this is the price you have to pay. Also, the silver chassis is not what it would have been expected from an Alienware series laptop, but the fine touch of the blue alien head on the front is kind of nice. Moreover, the display is astounding with a resolution at 1920×1200. Also, the monitor seems to produce a softer image than most displays at this resolution, which is a good thing because it makes it easier to look at the screen for longer periods of time (again, awesome for really active game players!).

Also, on the list of the best rated laptop computers are the Lenovo IdeaPal Y650, the Sony VAIO FW270j, the Asus Eee PC and the Dell Studio 1537 that have received an average of 4.5 points out of the 5 given for style, performance and features.
Top Ten Notebooks
Published by OnlyBestLaptops, on Jul 12 2010, in the categories: Best Laptop Prices, Best quality devices, Best Rated category, Best selling devices
Throughout time, people have made serious lists, ranking computers either by price, or by performance, or by whatever else criteria. Below it is a list of the top ten laptops that fits nowadays’ needs.
On the last place is the Dell Inspiron 14z, which is a laptop for students, that has a stylish look and a great battery life, but that has an overly-polished screen (because we all know that students throw in with their laptop all kind of other stuff that may damage it) through which it is a bit hard to see. Its price is around $799.
On the 9th place is the ASUS UL80Vt-A1 that delivers good battery life, has a discrete processor, but is drawn back by its poor design features. The price varies from $783,15 to $943,55.
Next, on the 8th place, comes the Toshiba Satellite U505-S2940 that is a solid choice for general computing and entertainment, but only for that. If you need a light travel mate, you should choose another laptop.
The 7th place is taken by another Toshiba laptop – the Toshiba Satellite U505, a solid, attractive performer, whose only problem is the multitouch screen. Its price varies from $970 to $992.
On the 6th place we have Dell’s Studio XPS 16, whose sharp designs and smart features don’t come with a hefty price tag – it costs around $949.

In the middle of the list we have Lenovo’s ThinkPad T400s that features a Core 2 Duo SP9600 processor that runs with 2530MHz of speed. With its 128GB hard drive, this makes a lean, mean business machine.
The 4th is taken by Apple’s15-inch MacBook Pro/2.8GHz, that is powered by a Core 2 Duo T9600 at 2530MHz and along with its 500Gb hard drive there is also the FireWire port and the lithium-polymer battery previously available only in the 17-inch MacBook Pro. It is true that its features are great, but they are also pricy – the costs go up from $2,149,95 to $2,294.
The bronze medal goes to Lenovo’s ThinkPad SL510, which is an excellent choice for business user or students who do not goof around much. With its Core 2 Duo T9600 processor and its 500GB hard drive, it is worth every cent. Its price range is between $898.99 – $929.00.
Like it was expected, the first two places are saved for HP laptop computers. The silver medal is won by HP Envy 13, that looks like a MackBook and feels like a MackBook but is NOT a MacBook – it is PC’s answer for slim, stylish computing. Only more expensive – it costs around $1,499.99.

First on the list of the top ten laptop computers is HP’s EliteBook 8440w, that even if it won’t win awards for ultrathin design elements or elegant looks, underneath the almost military-style exterior is a dual-core Intel CPU combined with an nVidia Quadro FX 380M professional-grade graphics processor. With a price of $1,649, the 8440w isn’t the least expensive all-purpose laptop, but it delivers robust performance in a 5.3 pound package and it builds in capabilities beyond the average 14-inch notebook.
Highest Rated Gaming Notebook
Published by OnlyBestLaptops, on Jul 08 2010, in the categories: Asus, Best Rated category, gaming, Gaming computers
This is a special category of laptops. These systems are optimized for graphics performance and processor speed. Obviously, these optimizations can be used for other tasks, but for many it is important to and have fun. As a rule of construction, these laptops use the fastest processors from the desktop replacement laptops with variants of “mobile” type of the best video cards.
If you are accustomed to sit at a desk and play, then use the computer classes. But if you do not want to give up your favorite games when you are in a travel or you want to be able to play anytime and anywhere, it fits you well a laptop – obviously more expensive than its “inert” corresponding.

For such systems is better to target those with a bigger memory, even 1GB and ideally should be to find laptops with graphics cards such as ATI Mobility Radeon X800 or Nvidia GeForce Go 6800. Obviously, the display can not be less than 15 inches and, even so, it may be small for many games. Widescreen display type is very suitable because the visual field is expanded – you can see more of a playing surface (see the enemy that come from the lateral side).
Although they have many limitations in terms of configuration, the laptops have the advantage of portability. If you are passionate about games, but really want a laptop, then prepare to keep on carrying a little monster. Asus will soon bring to market a laptop with a screen diagonal of 17 “equipped with the most powerful mobile graphics card with a single processor that is Nvidia GeForce GTX 260mA. Asus G71Gx, one of the highest rated gaming notebook, will be equipped with up to 12 GB of RAM, providing in turn the card 1 GB of GDDR3 memory. G71Gx’s storage capacity will be 1 TB, made possible by using two 500 GB HDDs.
Screen of 17 inches of the machine will have a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels and those with low vision are encouraged to use it due to very small pixel. Laptop will be part of the product range ROG (Republic of Gamers) and will have a shell decorated with light elements. A model with larger screen and video card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4870 X2 costs around $ 2,200.
G Series notebooks from Asus is reserved for citizens of the Republic of Gamers and gave us over the years a number of pleasant surprises. Perhaps some of you will say that gaming laptops Supreme bear Alienware logo and everything else is cheap imitation.

Allow me to contradict this view and to invite you to admire, last creative Taiwanese manufacturer, the model Asus G73. Finally you might want one. It is clear that ASUS G73, one of the highest rated gaming notebook, can not fight alongside the Alienware m17x models equipped with SLI configurations, but will be thanking all Gamers who may not be willing to pay the difference. Screen angles of vision is good, but not recommended to have a light source behind. In a dark room the image is clearly visible, but the external filter could become annoying in bright daylight.
