Best small laptop

The computers are continually evolving. Many years ago they were really big (quite huge) devices that were not so good either. In time they have got smaller and smaller and also much better. The monitors got thinner, the hard drives and the other components also got smaller and lighter and this way engineers came up with the notebooks. They have all of the components that a desktop computer has, and they can do all of the same tasks, only that they are much smaller, lighter and portable. But engineers didn’t stopped here…they continued the researches, and they came with some even smaller devices.




These are called “mini notebooks” or “netbooks” and they are a few inches smaller than the normal laptops. But it was practically impossible to integrate all of the components of a notebook (that anyway has the components much smaller than on a desktop computer) into an even smaller device. And that’s why a mini notebook doesn’t have quite all the features of a bigger laptop. For example it doesn’t have all the keys on the keyboard (don’t worry because all the important keys are there, except for the numeric keys) or it doesn’t have an optical drive. But you don’t have to worry about this either because there are external optical drives that you can buy and use when you need to.



Today we’ll discuss about one of the best small laptops, and we’ll take one from Dell. Dell was for many years the biggest producer of personal computers in the world, and today is in the top 3, so you can definitely trust the company’s products, and be sure that they will behave good. Dell offers many models of notebooks and today we’ll discuss about a special one, the Dell Inspiron Mini Nickelodeon laptop. This is a limited edition of notebooks that was made in collaboration with the Nickelodeon TV channel. Since Nickelodeon is a TV channel with cartoons for the kids, this notebook is also recommended for the youngsters. It has a 10.1 inch diagonal display screen and pretty nice green and white design. It weighs just about 2.5 lbs and is 1.1 inch thin so this means that it is highly portable and your child can take it with him at school, or anywhere else he is going.



Thanks to the nick.com desktop gadget you can always stay in touch with the latest cartoons from Nickelodeon, wallpapers and other cool stuff. Its processor is an Intel ® Atom Processor ® N 270 (1.6 GHz/ 533 Mhz FSB/ 512 K cache) and the RAM memory is 1 GB of DDR 2 SD RAM 3. The graphics engine is just the basic Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950 while the hard drive of this netbook has a capacity of 160 GB and 5400 rpm. It has both wireless and Ethernet connectivity for easy access to the internet. (Wireless 802.11 g (1397) Mini Card) and a 3 cell Lithium Ion battery. It has a price of around 330 dollars and comes with one year or warranty.

So after all it is a really nice small laptop, one that comes with good features ( the classic ones found on most of the netbooks). But the difference between this netbook and others it the design, and as we said earlier this model has a special design, and some other special features which are making it a great gift for a child that is just learning the secrets of computing.
