Published by OnlyBestLaptops, on May 05 2010, in the categories: General info

Laptops are really popular these days and they are bought by more and more people from all over the world. And they are not purchased just by the rich ones, and they have become really accessible…not to everyone, because they are still more expensive than desktop computers, but still they are much cheaper than they were a few years ago. If you really need a laptop you can buy it right now, but if you can wait a little longer, wait until December. So you might wonder why would you have to wait until then…well the answer is : because that is the best month to buy a laptop.

It is already known that Christmas is one of the most famous holidays worldwide and that in the period before Christmas there are all sorts of special offers and discounts not just on laptops, but on any kind of product. But not just December is a really good month to buy a cheap product, because the Christmas shopping season begins much earlier, from November or even October. November can be a really good month especially if you are living in the United States of America, because here they have the Thanksgiving Day. But not the Thanksgiving day interest us, but the Friday that follows this holiday. It is called the  Black Friday, and  it is known for the impressive discounts made by stores, and also for the thousands, and even millions of customers that are rushing to the stores trying to find the best deals. So for the United States of America, November can also be considered the best month to buy a laptop. In this period you can get major discounts at notebooks, of 100 dollars on a model or even more.

There are many examples of Black Friday laptop discounts that we gave in previous articles, so just check them out. But for now we’ll discuss about another model of laptop, and for today we’ll choose one from a producer that we never mentioned before. The company is Averatec, and its laptop is the Averatec – Laptop with Intel ® Pentium ® Processor – Silver, Model: N 3400. This is quite a really cheap laptop that comes at a price of just 449 dollars (at Best Buy). So now let’s see what features it has to offer, and then we’ll discuss them:

So as we expected the features of this laptop are not so powerful….but what can you ask for at just 500 dollars? The processor is a simply Intel Pentium @ 2.16 ghz while the RAM memory offers 3 GB of DDR 2. This is not much, but it is not a weak configuration either. And it can be quite enough for the simple day to day computer activities. The display screen is not so big either and has 13.3 inch in diagonal. Even though it doesn’t have the price or the screen of a netbook, it has the same optical drive. And since a netbook doesn’t have an optical drive, this laptop doesn’t have one either. The hard drive is quite nice and has 250 GB, but the battery is quite weak and has just 2 cells. The life of the battery is not mentioned, but we are guessing that it isn’t such a good one.

But after all it is a really cheap and accessible laptop, that offers quite nice features for this price. Even though we don’t know so much about this company (Averatec), you can still try this cheap laptop, and see how it works. Who knows…maybe you will make a good deal and you will have yourself a good and cheap laptop.11
