Hewlett Packard (or simply HP) is the largest technology company in the world. It has its headquarters in Palo Alto, California, USA, but the company operates in most of the countries of the world. It is specialized in developing and producing computers, storage and network hardware devices, software and also services. It offers its products to both home consumers and small to medium size companies, and it is selling its products in online stores, consumer electronics and office supply retail stores and alto through other partners and vendors.




The company was founded in 1939 by Bill Hewlett and David Packard (so now you know where the name comes from) and since then it continued to develop, and to sell millions of products and to make billions of dollars of profit. In 2007 HP was the world’s first IT company in history to make revenues of more than 100 billion dollars per year. HP is also the biggest seller of personal computers in the world, surpassing its rival company Dell. In terms of software, HP is the sixth largest company in the world. So with such a big experience and reputation, you can be sure that the HP products are the best.



The computers evolved so much in the last decades, becoming more and more popular and complex. But in the last years the computers even gained a new category which are the portable computers (also known as laptops or notebooks). These are usually very small and lightweight devices, that can be carried around anywhere the user goes. They also run with an included battery, so there is no need to search for an AC adapter when being on the road. But you will have to find eventually one, because the battery won’t last for such a long time. Any way…the laptops are beginning to be more and more popular, and probably as time passes, there will be more laptops than personal desktop computers.



Hewlett Packard is offering a lot of really good notebooks with one of the best laptop value on the market, and today we are going to discuss about a HP model. There are 5 categories of notebooks offered by the company and these are: Mini laptops, everyday computing, ultra portable laptops, high performance laptops and ENVY notebooks. Let’s take a random model from the “everyday” category, and we’ll choose the HP G 71 t series. These come with a cool LED with 17.3 inch  diagonal that will allow you to use high resolutions with the 16:9 ratio. It also features a simple touch control panel, a touchpad and a full size keyboard. The battery is a standard 6 cell Lithium Ion. To also enjoy a good sound from your laptop, this model has some built-in speakers made by Altec Lansing. Before continuing with the technical details, let’s mention the price for this laptop, because this is probably the most important aspect for most of the users. This laptop is not that expensive with a price of about 580 dollars.



Since there are a few different models from these series, you can choose a different type of processor, but the most simple one is the : Intel (R) Pentium(R) Processor T 4300 (2.1 GHz, 1 MB L2 Cache, 800 MHz FSB). We are guessing that the price of 580 dollars is for the simplest of the versions, so we are going to present the lowest choice for each of the characteristics. In terms of memory the smallest one is 2 GB DDR 2 System Memory (2 Dimm), and the hard disk drive is a 160 GB 5400 RPM SATA Hard Drive. You also have a few choices for the video card, and the most basic one will be the 512 MB NVIDIA GeForce G 103 M. You can also choose one of the many types of optical drives, and the simplest one is the Super Multi 8 X DVD +/- R/ RW with Double Layer Support.
