Best Laptop Computer Brands

The laptops (also known as notebooks) are getting more and more popular these days. A laptop is the same as a personal computer, only that is much smaller, lighter and portable. Usually a computer has a lot of components (monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, and also the CPU). But a laptop has all of these components in one piece. It unfolds in two parts…one of them has the display screen, while the other has the keyboard, the mouse (which is actually a touch pad), the CD / DVD ROM unit, and also all of the internal components (processor, RAM memory, hard disk, sound card etc.). Here  on the lower side of a laptop you can also find all of the useful ports (USB, audio, video, etc), and also an included set of speakers. So you will have all that you need in a very small and portable device. And this is why in time there will be more and more laptops than desktop computers. There are many good producers on the market, and the best laptop computer brands in the world are: HP, Dell, Asus, Lenovo, Acer, Apple, Sony, Toshiba, Fujitsu, MSI, Alienware and Gateway.

But the technology never stops evolving, and engineers manage to come with some devices even smaller than the regular laptops. These are the “mini notebooks” or simply netbooks. They are even smaller, with a display screen of 8 – 12 inch (the most popular size is 10 inch) and a weight smaller than 4 pounds. In order to reduce size and weight, they don’t have an optical drive, so in case you really need one, you will have to use an external one.

So if the very small size of the screen doesn’t bother  you, and you are looking for a really small computer, then you should buy a mini notebook. There are many models on the market, and one of them is the HP Mini 210 series. The prices for the laptops from these series start at just 280 dollars. They have a display screen with a diagonal of just 10 inches, and a sleek design that has just 0.9 inch thick and a weight of just 2.69 lbs. Depending on the store you buy them from, they can come with an included Windows XP with Service Pack 3, or with the latest version which is Windows 7. With this small and portable laptop you will be able to do all the daily PC activities, surf the internet, handle your business problems and so on…and the great thing is that you can do all of these activities in any place you want. Even if the device is so small, it also has an included webcam, for the times when you want to chat with your friends on the internet. All the models from this series have a Intel (R) Atom (TM) Processor N 450 (1.66 GHz, 512 KB) with Intel (R) Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 and a 1 GB DDR 2 System Memory (1 Dimm), that can be upgraded up to 2 GB. You can choose a hard drive of 160 GB or one with 250 GB of memory.

The display is widescreen and can support a resolution of 1024 x 600. Even though it doesn’t have an included CD / DVD unit, you can use an external one. You can also choose a model with a 3 cell or a 6 cell Lithium Ion Battery. The mini laptop has 3 USB ports and also 2 built in stereo speakers. The overall dimensions for it are: 10.55 in (L) x 6.9 in (W) x 0.9-1.11 in (H).

So now you know which are the best laptop computer brands in the world (if you forgot them, here they are again: HP, Dell, Asus, Lenovo, Acer, Apple, Sony, Toshiba, Fujitsu, MSI, Alienware and Gateway), and you also know a really good model of netbook. If you too own a HP Mini 210 laptop, then we invite you to tell us more about it. Are you happy with the small dimensions and the small price of this netbook? Are you happy with its performance?…or would you rather buy a bigger laptop, which is also more powerful? Have a nice day!

First of all, there are two main types of laptop out there. Windows and Apple. We will start with Windows as there are many brands of laptop that run Windows.

The simple answer is this - almost all the brands of laptops/notebooks are manufactured by one of a handful of companies & have similar components inside. For one example, the Asus brand manufactures most hardware for most main brands including HP, Dell and even Apple, yet they have their own line that is highly rated, so who do you go with?
