Dell is a large multinational company based in Texas, United States of America, which produces and sells computers and other types of related products and services. It has the name after its founder Michael Dell, which started this business in 1984. Since then the company developed a lot, and expanded all over the world. Today it has more than 96,000 employees in many countries. Among the devices produced by this company, there are Desktop computers, Servers, Notebooks, Netbooks, Peripherals, Printers, Televisions, Scanners, Storage and Smart Phones.
Dell is also selling products made by other companies, such as: High Definition TV-s, cameras, printers, MP3 players and other electronic devices. Dell is among the best producers of laptops in the world, and that’s why we choose to discuss about it. For today we’ll discuss more about a specific model of Dell laptop, but if you want to find out more general information about laptops (including those made by Dell), you can visit the Wikipedia for laptops.

And for today we’ll discuss more about one of the best Dell laptop computers, the brand new Dell - Studio XPS Laptop / Intel ® Core ™ i5 Processor - Obsidian Black, Model: X 1647-1175 OBK. This is a very powerful, high end laptop that also has a really big price of 1,500 dollars. But as you will see, its features are really good, and they worth the money. First of all there is the processor, the really good Intel ® Core ™ i5 – 450 M processor, that features 3 MB cache and 2.4 GHz processor speed with Turbo Boost up to 2.66 GHz.
The display screen is a 15.6 " LED backlit LCD high definition plus widescreen display, with a 720 p resolution. So far we got used with laptops with a 4 GB RAM memory and a hard drive of maximum 500 GB. But this model comes from a new generation, and it has 6 GB of DDR 3 RAM memory (that can be expanded to 8 GB), and with a hard drive of 640 GB and 7200 rpm. So it is a very good one, and with such a big RAM memory you can easily work with the most complex applications and video games. We don’t understand why for this money they didn’t offered a better optical drive, and this laptop has just a simple DVD ± RW/ CD-RW drive. It doesn’t have Blu-ray support and it doesn’t even have a Multiformat DVD ± RW/ CD-RW drive with double-layer support. And this is quite unusual, because you find these features in much cheaper laptops.

But its graphics engine is really good too, and it is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 graphics card, that features up to 1 GB dedicated video memory for impressive image detail. Of course it also has built in speakers and a build in webcam to keep in touch with friends and family from distance, over the internet. And so that you can browse the internet, it has both wireless and Ethernet connectivity. (Intel ® 6200 2 x 2 wireless mini card (802.11 b / g/ n) and Built-in 10 / 100/ 1000 Ethernet LAN with RJ 45 connector).
It also comes with a really good 8 in 1 media reader, that supports Secure Digital, High-Speed Secure Digital, Secure Digital High Capacity, Secure Digital IO, MultiMediaCard, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO and xD-Picture Card formats. It is not a really thin laptop, but still it is portable. Its weight is 6.4 lbs and it measures 1.3 inch thin. The batter y life is not really great, but it is ok for a laptop with such powerful features – 3 hours and 7 minutes. And if also comes with an installed version of the Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64 bit operating system and some other programs, so that you can use this laptop right after you bought it. Since it is a brand new model, so far it doesn’t have any ratings or reviews on that link. But if you just bought this laptop, or if you used it at a friend or somewhere else, tell us more about it. You can write a review and give a rating on the site of Best Buy, but you can also write a review here on our site. Have a nice day!
