As we already told you in previous articles, Best Buy is a big retail store from the United States of America and Canada which is specialized in selling consumer electronic products. In time it expanded in other countries too (such as Turkey, Puerto Rico, China, Mexico and the United Kindgdom) and it plans to expand even more in Europe.




It was founded back in 1983 and has the headquarters at Minnesota, United States of America. It has around 180,000 employees and more than 1,150 stores. So you can buy the wide variety of electronic products from one of the Best Buy stores, but you can also buy them directly from the site of the company.

As you will enter the site you will see 4 main categories : products, services, shops & deals and gifts. The category will focus on now is products, and among the wide variety of electronic products found here, there are: TV-s, Blu-ray & DVD players, iPods, MP3 players, audio systems, home theater systems, headphones, speakers, car audio, mobile phones, digital cameras, video cameras, webcams, computers, laptops, netbooks, monitors, networking devices, storage devices, GPS navigation system, satellite radios, printers, scanners, faxes, movies, music, video games, gadgets and many more others. But the products that are interesting us the most are the Best Buy laptop computers. As you enter the laptops category, you will see that they are sorted according to different criteria. First of all there are the three main categories : laptops ( a wide variety of laptops that all come with an installed version of a Microsoft operating system – Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional, Windows Vista Home Premium or Business, or Windows XP Pro), MacBooks (three styles – MacBook, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, and they all come with the Apple operating system – the Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopart) and netbooks (these are small laptops, designed for portability with a display screen smaller than 12 inch and no optical drive to save size and weight…they come with Microsoft operating systems, such as: Windows 7 Starter or Home Premium, or Windows XP Home).

This is quite a powerful laptop that comes at a price of 799.99 dollars. Its processor is a Mobile AMD Phenom ™ II quad core processor N 930 with a speed of 2.0 Ghz that will offer you a good performance. Its RAM memory is also very good, offering a default memory of 6 GB DDR 3 which can be expanded up to 8 GB. Its optical drive is a Multiformat DVD ± RW/ CD-RW drive with double-layer support, that can record up to 8.5 GB of data on a single DVD. The display screen for this HP laptop is a classic 15.6 ” LED high definition display with Bright View technology and a 1366 x 768 resolution that delivers intense clarity. Since it is a new model it also comes with a larger hard drive than we seen so far as default, and it has a 640 GB Serial ATA hard drive with a speed of 5400 rpm. It also features a built in fingerprint reader for more protection and its graphics engine is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 graphics, with 128 MB display cache and up to 3069 MB total graphics memory.

It has a nice aluminum design, and also comes with a built in webcam with microphone for video chatting on the internet. It also has a 5 in 1 media card reader that supports Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO and xD-Picture Card formats. It has most of the ports you might need including 3 high speed USB ports, audio ports, an Ethernet port and also a HDMI port for connecting the laptop to a High Definition TV. It has both wireless and Ethernet connectivity for easy access to the internet and measures just 1.4 inch thin. Its weight is 5.5 lbs and its battery life is 4 hours and 30 minutes. It comes with the Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64-bit operating system preinstalled and also some installed programs such as: Adobe Reader, MediaSmart DVD and a 60 day trial version of Microsoft Office Home and Student Edition 2007 also included.
