Even though AMD laptop computers are not very popular these days, there still are some that are very strong and powerful. Some of the existing AMD laptop computers are presented in what follows, so if you decide to purchase such a laptop, than this review should be very useful to you.
If you are looking for a desktop replacement that has a nice big screen and a full-sized keyboard (that is so rare in laptops nowadays) and if you don’t really need a high performance laptop than you should check out the following laptops. The Toshiba Satellite P305D-S8900, for instance, has an AMD Turion X2 RM-70 (2.0 GHz) processor that runs on 4GB of RAM and a 17-inch 1440×900 glossy screen. The huge 320GB hard drive will allow you to store on it anything you need and the Harman-Kardon speakers will provide good-enough sound for your movie nights or music. Moreover, the price for the laptop is around $775, which is not even that expensive, considering the prices of such big screen laptops these days.

Another 17-inch laptop is the HP Pavilion dv7-1103ea that also has an AMD Turion X2 RM-72 (2.1 GHz) processor that runs on 3GB of RAM. The 250 GB hard disk will make it possible for you to stock your documents, movies and games and the Blu-Ray ROM with SuperMulti DVD±R/RW Double Layer will allow you to write your own disks in the comfort of your own home. A great thing about this laptop is that the Harman-Kardon speakers come with an integrated subwoofer and the operating system which comes preinstalled on the laptop is the Windows Vista Home Premium. The price for this laptop is of £635.

But that’s enough about the 17 inch laptops; let’s see some 15-16 inch laptops with AMD processor. The Toshiba Satellite A355D-S6930 has an AMD Turion X2 ZM-80 (2.1 GHz) processor that is powered by 4GB of RAM and a massive 320GB hard drive, good for anything you have to store on it. Besides the usual Harman-Kordon speakers and the Windows Vista Home Premium, the 1366×768 16″ glossy screen will also make a good impression for the £649 you’ll have to pay for it. This laptop would make a great piece for a home laptop computer and will serve your interest, if you are not looking for a very good performer in matter of games or very demanding applications.
All in all, the AMD laptop computers are good choices for those who don’t really need very powerful system, but they require some big screens and nice resolutions and even big enough hard drives. Although there are better performers on the laptop market, these laptops too should be taken into account when in search of laptops, because even though they are not that fast at running applications, they still have their own upsides. It is true that AMD processors are not as fast as Intel processors and that such laptops don’t have a great battery life, but they will make great laptop computers for home usage, for those people who don’t need “flying” laptops.
