If you go to the company’s official website you will be able to see the application, which is one of the funniest things ever. Users are invited to install the application on their websites and to cross their fingers for certain events not to occur to the agency. The initiative is quite entertaining for everyone, considering that these things can happen to anyone and in any office. For instance, “getting a flat tire on route to presentation, while stuck on a bridge”; such things can definitely happen and they are considered by many bad luck. By crossing your fingers, the agency hopes to continue with their activities just like before.

Sony Vaio VPC-SB1A9E is a business laptop from Sony with an impressive performances. It could also be an advanced gaming laptop thanks to the 8 GB of RAM memory, the video card on 128 bits and the high end processor. There would be some extra interesting features like the SSD hard drive which has a way bigger speed than a SATA 2 one and an access time of only 0.1 ms. It can operate at very low temperatures, it is shock resistant and extremely silent. The laptop comes as a more performing alternative to Sony Vaio VPC-SB1V9E.
Then there is the finger print reader and the USB 3.0 port along with the screen which has different protections and the illuminated keyboard. With the help of the new USB you can transfer for example a Blu-Ray movie in less than 1 minute. Developed along a long period of time, ASUS NX90 is the result of a great collaboration between the ASUS engineers on the hardware part and the chief designer behind the Bang & Olufsen products, David Lewis on the aesthetic part. Going on, the notebooks have reached extreme performances on the graphic processing, even if they focused on the audio quality instead. ASUS NX90 is a great product and can be considered an example of elegance and design and a combination of high end components.
As it was expected, the combination between the Bang & Olfusen name associated with any kind of device and the top generation hardware from ASUS is coming with a worthy price of $3000. Since you remove it from the box you’ll realize that we are talking about some other product class than the mainstream. It’s great but not very portable weighing 4.4 Kg. The screen has 18.4 inch and on its side are placed the very big speakers. In order to make an idea about how big the speakers are, imagine that when you close the laptop, the speakers are covering the bottom side of the laptop.

In matter of materials, they used mostly polished aluminum which is very aesthetic even on long term. Unfortunately it can be considered a fingerprint magnet. So if you are not a user who likes to wipe his toys very often, the part on the base of the keyboard where you rest your wrists might not be so attractive after a short time. For the keyboard and the touchpads they used matte black plastic which comes with a plus in usability.
The keys are well distanced and you have two touchpads each with two buttons – for right click and left click. This was thought to be used also by the left handed users and the right handed ones. But this could also be a disappointment for some because in order to add two touchpads they had to remove a numpad.

In matter of assembly quality, it’s easy to notice the fact that at this chapter it is perfect. There was nothing left unverified and even if we are talking about a big notebook it is true it gives the feeling of strong and compact construction.

Lenovo Thinkpad X201S sure has been a great surprise when we saw it in your hands. It came inside a pretty big box despite the fact that it is a 12.1 inch mini laptop. When we opened the box we noticed that it does not come alone; Thinkpad X201S comes along with a Lenovo dock station to complete the netbook because it is equipped with a DVD Writer, 4 USB ports, the power jack, the VGA for video, a network port RJ-45, a security and locking system and it also has a special space for the additional battery.
This great accessory is very useful, the mini laptop just snaps into it with the help of a connecting slot and it is very light, along with the Lenovo laptop it weighs about 2 Kg. In this box you also find a set of keys and the user guide. With the keys you can lock the mini laptop with the dock station. We remarked some improvements on the design with the fingerprint reader evolving a bit and it allows the users to start the device and login with only their fingerprint; the existence of an USB port for charging batteries for other gadgets even when the system is off or in stand-by.

Related to the design, the Thinkpad series is not so great but we like it because it is a classic, the netbook having a compact shape. The small modifications we noticed on the keyboard also. It looks the same as on the X200 model only that the Enter key is bigger; the directional keys were not impressive because they are too small. Lenovo Thinkpad X201S comes equipped also with the classic touchpad. The netbook from Lenovo also has 12.1 inch display which can show 1440 x 900 pixels resolutions and it is LED backlight and it’s matte so you’ll have no problems in direct sunlight.

As Lenovo got us used with, this screen can be opened up to 180 degrees thanks to the special hinges. The image is good, clear and with pretty good viewing angles but which are a bit smaller than on the glossy displays. On the back side is the ventilation, the liquid evacuation system and the slot for connecting it to the dock. For more information about the best Lenovo laptop yet you can visit Lenovo Homepage.11

An ASUS Eee PC 1005HA has sit here for almost one year and we realized what works and what does not work and even if now it’s not sold anymore it’s worth our appreciation. Its successor is the ASUS Eee PC1006P, it has the same features and knowing the previous experience probably it doesn’t have any of the 1005HA bugs which by the way are almost nonexistent.
The laptop has an elegant and simple design which is very appreciated by us. We had the version on black and that’s why it seemed smaller and cuter. The case is shiny and unfortunately it acts just like a magnet for all the fingerprints. Still, ASUS Eee PC 1005HA is a beautiful laptop – the 1005P looks exactly the same. From the weight side there are no problems because it had 1.3 Kg and was very easy and comfortable to carry in any position so it is one of the best laptops for traveling.

Obviously we had time to see what this beautiful toy can do. ASUS is saying that the battery will last up to 11 hours. As you would expect it is a value of some testing with everything stopped. In reality, the battery lasts up to 5 or 6 hours with WiFi and approximately 4 or 5 hours with 3G modem in the USB port. We don’t have to mention the browsing; right?

The laptop is running very bad on Power Saver and maybe that is why we used it on Balanced almost all the time. We installed the Super Hybrid Engine application from ASUS which was set on Auto all the time. The conclusion was interesting because either if the laptop was on Power Saver and was running bad or if it was on Balanced and it gained power when needed, the battery lifetime varied widely. So it’s not worth getting mad with it.
We tested almost everything that could be tested. It had Windows 7, Ubuntu Netbook Remix, Windows XP with Service Pack 3 and so on. Knowing that it has only 1 GB of RAM memory, Windows XP was the best option. It seemed that even the battery lasted longer on it. In Ubuntu 9.04 we had some problems with wireless which were solved pretty easy in the end. Windows 7 was running a bit slowly.
